Nu Skin partnered with Raritan, a data center infrastructure management provider, to create a new optimized data center that is optimized to keep pace with the company’s growth, while reducing its operating costs.

Jim Bolinder, senior manager of technical operations at Nu Skin, and Jon Inaba, director of power management solutions at Raritan, discussed the project during a presentation at the 7×24 Exchange conference in Phoenix, AZ on October 29th.

Nu Skin operates in more than 54 countries, and has more than one million independent distributors. Its new 4,200-square-ft data center was designed using N+ 1 criterion to accommodate future growth, and supports today’s higher densities — including blade servers — and LEED requirements for decreased energy use.

Raritan also showed some of its innovative products at the conference.

Inaba said, “Our new intelligent rack PDU, the PX3, helps data centers be more energy efficient while economizing on its own power consumption; and, our new rack transfer switch — with one of the fastest load transfers in the industry — helps keep data centers operating optimally.”
